Hydra 9 is Out!

For people that keep up with WoW PvP videos, you’ll probably be excited to know that Hydra 9 is out. You can catch it here.

It’s 35 minutes long, a lengthy video by WoW PvP video standards.  The editing is very good and the music was right up my alley, although that always varies by person of course.  The gameplay is a bit more hit and miss.  I’m not going to make any comments on skill, since I honestly can’t even keep up with half of what’s going on.  Videos from rank 1 capable players are just too far out of my league.  The clips chosen are going to be a bit more controversial though.

It starts out with a lot of under geared shadow clips.  Not too many people are used to seeing Hydra play shadow in his videos, but it’s a nice change of pace.  As much as I like playing disc, watching disc for a long time can be boring.  It’s 2′s stuff though, which will turn a lot of people off.

Next, there’s a pretty fun couple of clips of him dueling a mage in a tree.  Pretty entertaining stuff.

After that, it goes into more of what you’d expect; disc in rmp.

Finally it finishes with a few fun clips of griefing.

Overall, I liked it, but the lack of Skype in all the fights is a disappointment to me.  I really enjoy Skype in PvP videos, especially ones where the players are that talented.  It’s interesting to listen to them and hear what they’re thinking a bit.  Like I said before, as an average player, it’s too hard to keep up with these videos without any sort of Skype to help out.  Ignoring its lack of Skype, it’s a high quality video that I’m sure most people will enjoy.  If anything, Hydra’s videos suffer from the fact that his previous videos were all so good people are starting to have unrealistic expectations that he can somehow continually outdo himself.
